Director of Marketing

ROLE

The Director of Marketing will lead the Marketing Department, overseeing the operations and execution of the company’s visions/strategies regarding advertising, marketing, sales, design, and brand awareness. This person will work closely with the CEO and COO for direction regarding vision/strategy while managing the marketing process from concept to completion & ensuring all marketing objectives are documented, systematized, and completed on time.

You will also be responsible for developing key growth strategies, tactics, and action plans. This includes, but is not limited to, improving performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through the development and implementation of effective marketing systems and strategies and ensuring key metrics are consistently hit and surpassed.

The goal of this role is to offload Marketing management and innovation from the CEO. You are expected to bring new ideas to the table, adding to the collective knowledge of the group. This role is also that of a “player/coach” meaning you will be expected to perform marketing duties (copywriting, funnel building, expanding traffic platforms, building creative assets) as well as oversee a team given we are a small company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the CEO to develop a comprehensive strategic plan that is aligned with the company’s vision – overseeing and executing the implementation of that plan
  • Ensure consistent inflow of prospect applications to supply Sales Department as well as expand across different platforms to provide stability for Sales Team
  • Lead the marketing team to develop digital and traditional marketing campaigns and collateral across multiple platforms and oversee their successful deployment
  • Develop and maintain training materials/SOPs to support team growth, collaboration and consistency
  • Responsible for building, leading and managing a team which can execute on the CEO’s marketing/branding/vision concepts
  • Marketing, Film, Event & Production schedules are created with the CEO; changes to such schedules are properly documented and advance notice is provided
  • Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategies as a member of the leadership team – specifically focusing on Marketing / Brand Awareness
  • Execute HR tasks such as determining hiring needs, interviewing employees, overseeing the assignment of employees, planning staff development, and creating/improving all onboarding
  • Work with Finance to project expected lead volume and marketing spend
  • Monitor the quality of marketing and sales information and define improvement programs
  • Liaise with marketing sub teams, internal stakeholders, external agencies, and vendors as necessary to execute on the vision
  • Ensure all content produced by Marketing Department is in compliance with Legal guidelines and properly reviewed prior to use
  • Contribute to and heavily support the planning of all in person events
  • Execute additional projects, requests, etc. as required by needs of company and vision

RESULTS

  • Marketing campaigns’ performance is measured, used to make decisions and impacts are communicated to all necessary departments/parties
  • Marketing team understands CEO’s creative vision and is able to execute without micromanagement
  • Brand presence and acquisition process is scaled across multiple platforms including Facebook, Google, YouTube, Instagram, Company Websites, etc…while maintaining brand identity
  • Department projections are developed (with Finance) and managed properly regarding creation of campaigns, digital media, and hiring

  • All company events are recorded and the content filmed meets both the strategic objectives agreed upon with CEO as well as company quality standards
  • Team is overseen, trained and managed to efficiently execute ideas from start to finish to fulfillthe vision
  • Brand guidelines are always up to date, housed in the Team Drive, as well as clear, consistent, and detailed; Changes to these are communicated through proper channels to the Marketing Team
  • EOW Report is completed and delivered to CEO BY Sunday at 2pm EST each week
  • All team members have clear direction on goals and priorities; weekly 1:1s, coaching sessions and performance evaluations are conducted
  • Executive Team has consistent visibility into marketing team metrics and forecasting

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of digital marketing experience
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Excels in a startup, fast growth environment; accustomed to pivoting quickly and operating under tight deadlines
  • Experience working with ClickFunnels, Hubspot and funnel-optimization for Lead Generation
  • Ability to align marketing strategy with the vision of the CEO and company values, while handling day to day operations
  • Heavy project management skills
  • Ability to lead and grow a dynamic team of creatives
  • Knowledge of analytics tools to understand ROI of campaigns
  • Comprehensive numerical skills, including utilization of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate across all departments as needed
  • Self-directed and able to work closely with CEO
  • Able to identify if inefficiencies can be solved with a person or a process.
  • Experience managing/executing in-person events preferred
  • Quick to pick up new technology / apps (i.e. ScheduleOnce, ClickFunnels, Asana, Voxer)
  • Generally reachable and responsive to Voxer during business hours, as well as evenings/weekends as needed
  • Expert communication skills
  • Working knowledge of GSuite – Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs
